270: Another Ian Siegal Special Plug

Hi.

Saturday October 31, Ian Siegal is playing in a bar nearby.

Ofcourse we bought tickets and are going to see him (again!)

It's gonna be the 4th or the 5th time I'm gonna see him live,

and guess what???

Really looking forward to that [:-)

-

He plays, well, let's call it blues, or better booze-blues,

cause he isn't particular sober -at all- and the show isincredible.

He has a voice that might make Don Van Vliet

(yeah, Captain Beefheart)

and Howling Wolf blink their eyes...

He also plays a mean guitar and is generally

a great performer on stage.

His stories about women, booze and other "bad" habits

are straight to the point and full of humour.

Did I mention he has some tight-ass band?

No?

Well, he has!

Hi.

Today a final descision has been made

to bring our oldest cat Pinch to the vet...

tomorrow he'll put him out of his misery.

His nine lives have ended, he strutted around my life

for the best part of 21 years.

He's too sick (OLD!) to eat properly, use the catbin or even simply

sit and stand up straight for more than over a week now,

he's in a lot of pain, so we have to do the right thing.

Because he always got along with first one,

and then the other dog in the house

(and I can't bring myself to go look through

a bunch of "cattish" songs tonight!)

I'll do the dog instead...

What can I say?

When I first heard one of Fela's albums

with that great Wall Of Horns, I was totally blown away!

Every other album I heard IS kinda more of the same,

but that's just how I like it!

His legacy continues by his sons Seun & Femi,

though for me pops was the real thing...

Or the time I saw King Sunny Ade live at North Sea Jazz

in the Hague, I danced off my pants to those Telecasters

scattering away inbetween the percussion and the sweet

african queens backing up the lines Synchro System :-)
