317: Jammin' With Stevie, part 3

Hi.
Today something I've been working on quite a bit:
a 4 and a half hour version fiesta of wonderful
(and less wonderfull!) Stevie covers...
I sometimes wonder if mr. Stevie actually hears all
these interpretations of his tunes?
I hope at least his royalties come in at a regular basis [:-)
-
There's a lovely trip to Wonderland over HERE,
and you might check previous posts on E-mile Says
on various "Wonderous Wannabees" over HERE & HERE.
-

Ofcourse,

I must thank all my fellow bloggers,

(you know who you are, right?)

without whom this corny cover-continuumcouldn't continue co-exist...

Peace to y'all!

Another one from my mailbox:
Hi,
I'm Courtenay, better known as the front-woman of See Green.
Would really appreciate it if you checked out my track
LCD Soundsystem cover "I Can Change."
If you like it feel free to share it with your readers as a download on your site.

Soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/see-green/i-can-change-lcd-soundsytem-cover

"The music of L.A.’s Courtenay Green ping-pongs between the confessional
(and even confrontational) pop of ’90s songstresses such as
Natalie Merchant and the carefree confections of ’80s girl groups.
It’s clever, maybe sassy, & very self-aware" - Kevin, Buzz Bands LA

Thanks for listening,
XO Courtenay

Just a little plug...

This I received in my mailbox the other day:
"Hello E-mile.
Cover songs are an excellent way of pay homage
to the great music of previous generations.
They keep the songs and memories alive,
as we explore new sounds mixed with older lyrics.
Your site’s extensive collection of cover songs illustrates
this particular passion for recycling classics.
Therefore, I am writing to follow up regarding
the new single from Brooklyn rocker, Ariel Aparicio.
“Brooklyn rocker, Ariel Aparicio is paying homage with his edgy punk-rock rendition of the classic 80’s hit, “People Who Died” by the Jim Carroll Band. While Ariel incorporates the lyrics and layout of the original, he personalizes it by giving it an energetic and catchy twist that will be stuck in your head all day. The single is off his latest EP, the bEdRoom tapeS, which hit digital stores July 6th. The collection features 3 original tracks; “Lucille” a song comprised of tongue-in-cheek, infectious lyrics that will be in your head for hours; “Torito,” a Spanish-infused lullaby written for his son; and “The Future,” a psychedelic mind trip into the subconscious over hypnotic, layered guitar hooks. With a sound and musical style that has been compared to David Bowie, The Stooges and The Strokes, Ariel’s three full-length albums and three single releases showcase his aggressive and unapologetic Rock ’n’ Roll grit. To learn more about Ariel and his music visit www.arielaparicio.com.”
Thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you!
Best, Pam Payano"
